Liturgy 031: As We Forgive Our Debtors
🙏 A Poem & 🕊️ A Blessing
If you only love those who love you
what reward will you get?
Are not even tax collectors
doing that?
This then is how you should pray…
Forgive us our debts
As we forgive our debtors
—Jesus of Nazareth
🙏 A Prayer
I place the poison
on my lips
it goes
down
like morsels
to the inmost part
All my righteous
judgments are
small spaces
and iron bars
monitors
on my feet
The Truth that sets me free?
Is not the truth
I cling to like a curse
LORD
What open fields lie
before me when I
release these captive
thoughts?
I want to be right
I know I am right
But will I seek
to be free
Help me LORD
You know they were wrong
NDAs and power plays
The laundry list is long
But if vengeance is yours
Simon lay down the sword
And these I write
in bold letters
Because you taught us to
as Physician
and Lord
We
forgive
our
debtors
🕊️ A Blessing
May you discover the psychological freedom of passing forgiveness. May your soul dance as you release your need to be God upon the judgment seat. May you know that God knows and vindicates those in God’s Divine care. May you smile as wide as the sea as you imitate Christ Jesus.
