Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. Colossians 3v23-24

🙏 Prayer

I spend 40 hours a week
with eyes of evaluation
ever on me

Employers
Clients
Colleagues

Watching
Measuring
the work I produce
the person I am

I will either measure
to their liking
to their disdain
to their indifference

With what form of vision
shall I return their gaze?

LORD

Give me eyes to see
Employers to love
Clients to serve
Colleagues to uplift

Give me eyes to see
The Imago Dei
in every soul
passing through
the double doors
and the inbox

Give me eyes to see
Holiness and kindness
as the ambitions
of my day

For You also
are a God who measures

Even Samuel had to be reminded:

The Lord sees
not as man sees
man looks on outward appearance
but the Lord looks on the heart

🕊️ Blessing

May you have eyes to see
the corporate ladder
the downward journey
of serving as Jesus served

May you have eyes to see
the pilgrimage of your soul
right in the very space
where you make your keep

In the Name of the One
who worked and dined
with Zealots, Tax Collectors
and the whole lot of
broken ordinary persons
