God of Presence
I keep walking ahead
eyes fixed on the bend in the trail.
But the ground is here
beneath my feet,
steady, carrying me.
The air is already full,
voices nearby,
light breaking through the trees.
More has been given
than I can hold.
Lord
Turn my pre-occupation
from what is to come
to what is already here
until this step
this breath
this day
is not passed over
but received.
Here is enough.

Dear Friend
Contentment is not a prize to pursue.
It is a gift to receive in this given day.
May you notice
provision already given
and smile.
May you worship God
Giver of all good things
with gladness.
