Lectio Divina
Tomorrow will worry about itself.
Jesus, Matthew 6
Prayer
Lord
Tomorrow
she turns
six.
Help me.
I wish to hold
what cannot
be held.
Teach me
to be
here.
Not tomorrow
Not yesterday
when I rocked her to sleep
in my arms.
Here.
Palms open
in praise and surrender.
Blessing
Dear Friend
May Divine Countenance shine upon you.
May you find sacred, your here and now.
Take in a slow deliberate breath.
Feel your lungs expand.
You are alive.
God is near.
Here in this ordinary time.
You know
we cannot defeat
the passage of time, but
may we learn
to inhabit it nonetheless
with a smile.
God bless you.
In the Name of the One
Who Created All Things in Love
Amen
