Lectio Divina
Since then
no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses
whom the Lord knew face to face
Deuteronomy 34
Prayer is nothing else
than an intimate sharing between friends
Teresa of Avila
Let us throw off
everything that hinders
and the sin that so easily entangles.
Let us run with perseverance
the race marked out for us
fixing our eyes on Jesus.
Hebrews 12
Prayer
Whenever we spoke
I could tell
she had been with Jesus
When she prayed for our meal
It was like listening in
to a conversation started
long before I arrived
Spirit of God
May this be
the inheritance
I receive
and keep alive
God of Moses
May I know the friendship
He enjoyed in the desert
So one day
from the heights of Nebo
looking towards the Jordan
I too may rest with a smile
Blessing
Dear Friend
On this All Saints Sunday
May you think deeply of a life worth imitating
May you honor the prophets who lived in friendship with God
May you consider the story you are leaving behind
May you rejoice in the gracious gifts of God
In the Name of the One
the Saints Before Adored
Amen
