Liturgy 067: Let Me Walk Gently
A Prayer and a Blessing for the Blessedly Small Moments of Revelation
Lectio Divina
Be Still
And Know
I Am
— Psalm 46:10
Prayer
O God of the ordinary—
the drip of coffee into a waiting cup,
the sigh of a child turning in her sleep,
the hush of early morning before the house wakes—
here You are.
In the breath between words,
in the rhythm of feet on a worn wooden floor,
in the steam curling from a cup of tea—
You arrive, quiet as light.
Not in thunder, not in fire,
but in the small hush of things:
the slow stretch of my dachshund in the sun,
the gentle spill of morning through the blinds,
the scent of rain before it comes.
And so, let me walk gently today,
eyes open, hands unhurried,
ready to find You where You have always been—
in the ordinary,
the unnoticed,
the blessedly small.
Amen.
Blessing
Dear Friend
May every table be an altar
every moment an act of worship
every person a neighbor to serve
In the Name of the One
Who Did Only
What He Saw
His Father Doing
Amen
Great post, Mike! Thanks for sharing! Blessings!
Beautiful.
